Polish Dairy Waste Water Treatment
Sludge Beds

The GES process reduced COD levels from 600 ppm to 30 ppm.

The dairy plant processes up to 600 cubic metres of waste water a day. On the site they were pumping tons of sludge daily into dry sludge beds. Since installing GES Biosystems, sludge production has been drastically reduced so that several of the beds are now redundant as can be seen from the photographs. Effluent water is already clear, even before entering the final clarifier, and sludge is much reduced. The company says it achieves significant savings through reduced transport, energy consumption and chemical use.
